Man's corrupt and loft Eftate.

Ye pompous Sons of Reafon idoliz'd
And vilify'd at once; of Reason dead,

Then deify'd, as Monarchs were of old;

'Tis Reafon our great Mafter holds fo dear;
'Tis Reason's injured rights his wrath refents;
'Tis Reafon's voice obey'd his glories crown;
To give loft Reason life, he pour'd his own:

Man is confidered as an inhabitant of the natural world, and his fall is proved by arguments deduced from the mifery in which he is now undeniably involved; compared with the happiness, of which we cannot help conceiving him poffefled, when he came out of the hands of his gracious Creator.

11. The deplorable and thocking circumftances of our birth.111. The painful and dangerous travail of women.-IV. The untimely diffolution of ftillborn, or new-born children.v. Our natural uncleanliness, helpleffnefs, ignorance, and nakedness.

VI. The grofs darknefs in which we naturally are, both with refpect to God and a future ftate.VII. The general rebellion of the brute creation against us Vii.
