DEDICATION.

TO THE

YOUNG LADIES OF NORTH WESTON HOUSE:

BEING confined to my room for a short time, by a slight indisposition, during the last Christmas vacation, it occurred to me, that I could not more agreeably or usefully employ my time, than by writing some little work for the instruction and amusement of you, my dear young friends and pupils.

Having finished it, I present it to you; and, with every hope of its being an incentive to you to tread through life the paths of religion and virtue, I subscribe myself, with the truest regard,

Your tenderly attached friend,
J. T. PHELPS.

Weston House,
Jan. 4, 1811.
