Jesus saith unto them, Believe ye that I am able to do this? They say unto him, Yea, Lord. Then touched he their eyes, 29 saying, According to your faith be it done unto you. And their eyes were opened. 30 And Jesus 6 strictly charged them, saying, See that no man know it. But they went forth, 31 and spread abroad his fame in all that land.

And as they went forth, be- 32 hold, there was brought to him a dumb man possessed with a 7 devil. And when the 33

And behold, a woman, who had an issue of blood twelve years, came behind him, and touched the 21 border of his garment: for she said within herself, If I do but touch his garment, I shall 22 be made whole. But Jesus turning and seeing her said, Daughter, be of good cheer; thy faith hath made thee whole. And the woman was 3 made whole from that hour. 23 And when Jesus came into the ruler's house, and saw the flute-players, and the crowd 24 making a tumult, he said, Give place for the damsel is 7 Gr. not dead, but sleepeth. And Jesus went about all 35 the cities and the villages, teaching in their synagogues, and preaching the gospel of the kingdom, and healing all manner of disease and all manner of sickness. But when 36 he saw the multitudes, he was moved with compassion for them, because they were distressed and scattered, as sheep not having a shepherd. Then 37 saith he unto his disciples, The harvest truly is plenteous, but the labourers are few. Pray ye therefore the Lord 38 of the harvest, that he send forth labourers into his harvest. And he called unto 10 him his twelve disciples, and gave them authority over unclean spirits, to cast them out, and to heal all manner of disease and all manner of sickness.

Now the names of the twelve 2 apostles are these: The first, Simon, who is called Peter, and Andrew his brother; James the son of Zebedee, and John his brother; Philip, and Bartho- 3

lomew; Thomas, and Matthew the publican; James the son of Alphæus, and Thaddeus; 4 Simon the 1Cananæan, and Judas Iscariot, who also 2 be5 trayed him. These twelve Jesus sent forth, and charged them, saying,

Go not into any way of the Gentiles, and enter not into any city of the Samaritans: 6 but go rather to the lost sheep 7 of the house of Israel. And as ye go, preach, saying, The kingdom of heaven is at hand. 8 Heal the sick, raise the dead, cleanse the lepers, cast out 3 devils: freely ye received, 9 freely give. Get you no gold, nor silver, nor brass in your 10 4 purses; no wallet for your journey, neither two coats, nor shoes, nor staff: for the labourer is worthy of his food. 11 And into whatsoever city or village ye shall enter, search out who in it is worthy; and there 12 abide till ye go forth. For it is not ye that speak, 20 but the Spirit of your Father that speaketh in you. And 21 brother shall deliver up brother to death, and the father his child and children shall rise up against parents, and 6 cause them to be put to death. And ye shall be hated 22 of all men for my name's sake: but he that endureth to the end, the same shall be saved. A disciple is not above his 24 7 master, nor a 8 servant above his lord. It is enough for the 25 disciple that he be as his 7 master, and the 8 servant as his lord. If they have called the master of the house 9 Beelzebub, how much more shall they call them of his household! Fear 26 them not therefore: for there is nothing covered, that shall not be revealed; and hid, that shall not be known. What I 27

At that season Jesus went 12
on the sabbath day through
the cornfields; and his disci-

began to pluck ears of corn,
and to eat. But the Phari- 2

unto him, Behold, thy disci-

But he said unto them, Have 3
ye not read what David did,

they that were with him; how 4
he entered into the house of
God, and 9 did eat the shew-
bread, which it was not law-
ful for him to eat, neither
for them that were with him,

have ye not read in the law,
how that on the sabbath day

Howbeit I say unto you, it shall be more tolerable for Tyre and Sidon in the day of judgement, than for you. 23 And thou, Capernaum, shalt thou be exalted unto heaven? thou shalt 6 go down unto Hades for if the 5 mighty works had been done in Sodom which were done in thee, it would have remained until 24 this day.
