A NEW PIN.

J. WILKS respectfully announces that his new and improved process for the manufacturing of Pins is now in full operation, and that the Pins thus produced are in reality of such decided superiority as to warrant a confident expectation that they will quickly supersede all others. Considering that the article is one of universal consumption, and on the quality of which so much comfort and real economy must necessarily depend, it is presumed that few improvements of greater general utility have been introduced for some time. The new Machinery is responsible for no Pins sold at this House prior to the 1st of January, 1831. Sold by the Single Paper; or in Packets, containing an assortment for family use, at 7s., or three Packets for 20s. To be had exclusively at

READ versus EVERILL AND MASON.

PECIAL JURY — VERDICT

FOR THE PLAINTIFF.

For some time past the public have been cautioned against spurious instruments, sold in town and country, and falsely represented as being manufactured by JOHN READ, the Original Patentee of the Stomach Pump and Self-Injecting Lavement Apparatus. In defence of his reputation, which was much injured by the sale of inferior articles in his name, the Patentee has been compelled to bring to justice persons detected in thus imposing on the public. He therefore takes the earliest opportunity of referring to

the Damages given him by a Special Jury, in the Court of Common Pleas, on the 21st of Dec. last, as a warning to all such persons as may be engaged in imitating his Injecting Syringes; and respectfully of cautioning the profession and the public against numerous pretenders who continue to circulate paltry and useless articles all over the kingdom, and to hawk them through the streets of the metropolis. The Genuine Apparatus (for the prevention of Costiveness) is Manufactured and Sold by John Read, 35, Regent Circus, Piccadilly, where it may be inspected.—Sold also by appointment, by W. H. Pepys, 22, Poultry, and Messrs. Stodart, 401, Strand.

N.B. Read's Syringe was brought into public notice by Sir Astley Cooper.
