Realizing the need of an improved Tune Book, the General Conference of 1890 authorized the publication of a book which would combine the hymns ad tunes in one volume, on the plan which is now adopted by nearly all the leading denominations. In its preparation prominent and successful Choir Leaders and other competent musicians hav for the last three years worked faithfully to produce such a book as would meet the needs of our Church for many years to come. The book will contain about 350 tunes, which have been chosen on account of their suita' ility for congregational singing. As many as possible of the familiar tunes, which have become endeared to our congregations through long use, have been retained, while a number of first-c ass new ones have been inserted, so as to provide variety and suit all tastes.
