E doubt not it would be acceptable to the

reader, to receive fome information concerning the Author of these ensuing excellent treatifes; but as very little is met with to affift us in this respect, we must be contented with faying, that though the transactions of his life are in a great measure unknown to us, his writings are a monument to his praise, which fhew the good understanding he had received, in the weighty concerns of life and falvation.
