place for you, I come again, and will receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye 4 may be also. And whither I go, ye know 5 the way. Thomas saith unto him, Lord, we know not whither thou goest; how know we 6 the way? Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, and the truth, and the life: no one 7 cometh unto the Father, but by me. If ye

had known me, ye would have known my Father also: from hence forth ye know him, 8 and have seen him. Philip saith unto him, Lord, shew us the Father, and it sufficeth us. 9 Jesus saith unto him, Have I been so long time with you, and dost thou not know me, Philip? he that hath seen me hath seen the Father; how sayest thou, Shew us the Father? 10 Believest thou not that I am in the Father, and the Father in me? the words that I say unto you I speak not from myself: but the Father 11 abiding in me doeth his works. Believe me that I am in the Father, and the Father in me: or else believe me for the very works' 12 sake. Verily, verily, I say unto you, He that believeth on me, the works that I do shall he do also; and greater works than these shall 13 he do; because I go unto the Father. And whatsoever ye shall ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the

14 Son. If ye shall ask me any thing in my 15 name, that will I do. If ye love me, ye will 16 keep my commandments. And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may be with you for ever, 17 even the Spirit of truth: whom the world cannot receive; for it beholdeth him not, neither knoweth him: ye know him; for he 18 abideth with you, and shall be in you. I

will not leave you desolate: I come unto you. 19 Yet a little while, and the world beholdeth

me no more; but ye behold me: because I 20 live, ye shall live also. In that day ye shall know that I am in my Father, and ye in me, 21 and I in you. He that hath my commandments, and keepeth them, he it is that loveth me: and he that loveth me shall be loved of my Father, and I will love him, and will manifest 22 myself unto him. Judas (not Iscariot) saith unto him, Lord, what is come to pass that thou wilt manifest thyself unto us, and not unto 23 the world? Jesus answered and said unto him, If a man love me, he will keep my word: and my Father will love him, and we will come unto him, and make our abode with 24 him. He that loveth me not keepeth not my words: and the word which ye hear is not mine, but the Father's who sent me.

25

These things have I spoken unto you, 26 while yet abiding with you. But the Comforter, even the Holy Spirit, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring to your remembrance all 27 that I said unto you. Peace I leave with you; my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be fearful. 28 Ye heard how I said unto you, I go away, and I come unto you. If ye loved me, ye would have rejoiced, because I go unto the Father: 29 for the Father is greater than I. And now I have told you before it come to pass, that 30 when it is come to pass, ye may believe. I will no more speak much with you, for the prince of the world cometh and he hath 31 nothing in me; but that the world may know that I love the Father, and as the Father gave me commandment, even so I do. Arise, Let us go

hence.

If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us our sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. If we say that we have not sinned, we make him a liar, and his word is not in us.-I John i, 9-10.

TRUSTING GOD.

PSALM LXXXIV.

1 How amiable are thy tabernacles, O Lord of hosts! 2 My soul longeth, yea, even fainteth for the courts of the Lord:

My heart and my flesh crieth out for the living
God.

3 Yea, the sparrow hath found a house,

4

And the swallow a nest for herself, where she may lay her young,

Even thine altars, O Lord of hosts, my King, and my God.

Blessed are they that dwell in thy house:

They will be still praising thee.

5 Blessed is the man whose strength is in thee; In whose heart are the ways of them.

6 Who passing through the valley of Baca make it a well;

The rain also filleth the pools.

7 They go from strength to strength,

8

Every one of them in Zion appeareth before God.
O Lord God of hosts, hear my prayer:

Give ear, O God of Jacob.

9 Behold, O God our shield,

And look upon the face of thine anointed.

10 For a day in thy courts is better than a thousand.

[God,

I had rather be a doorkeeper in the house of my Than to dwell in the tents of wickedness. 11 For the Lord God is a sun and shield: The Lord will give grace and glory:

No good thing will he withhold from them that walk uprightly.

12 O Lord of hosts, blessed is the man that trusteth in thee.

Come now, and let us reason together, saith the Lord: Though your sins be as scarlet,

They shall be as white as snow;

Though they be red like crimson,

They shall be as wool.-Isaiah i, 18.

THE PRAYER OF MOSES.

PSALM XC.

A Prayer of Moses the Man of God. 1 Lord, thou hast been our dwelling place in all

-generations.

2 Before the mountains were brought forth,

3

Or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world,
Even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
Thou turnest man to destruction;

And sayest, Return, ye children of men.

4 For a thousand years in thy sight are but as yesterday when it is past,

5

And as a watch in the night.

Thou carriest them away as with a flood;
They are as a sleep:

In the morning they are like grass which groweth

up.

6 In the morning it flourisheth, and groweth up;
