Citoyenne Jacqueline :

A Woman's Lot in the Great French Revolution.

"The characters stand out in marked individuality, living and breathing creatures, while the scenery is as delicately true to nature as if a Gainsborough or a Linnell had painted it. It is a charming book."-Reader.

"The author charms us immediately into keen interest in the scenes, and sympathy with the characters of her story, which shows a power of catching and reproducing to the life French piquancy and levity." Pall Mall Gazette.

"A piece of more thorough and conscientious literary workmanship has rarely come before us. . . . The dramatic representation of her personages is perfect."— British Quarterly Review.

"Citoyenne Jacqueline' is one of those rare books of which every sen-. tence deserves to be read leisurely, and will repay the attention with pleasure."-Guardian.

"There is real genius in the book." -Spectator.

Papers for Thoughtful Girls.

"One of the most fascinating books we have ever seen for the rising youth of the fair sex. The whole volume is so lively and yet so serious, that we

would disclaim all liking for the young lady who should not fall in love with it."-Eclectic Review.

The Diamond Rose:
A Life of Love and Duty.

"Story sweetly told. It is so full of character, it has such a depth of true human pathos about it, and-what in these days is no small merit-it is

written in such an exquisitely perfect style, that we hope all our readers will procure it for themselves."Literary Churchman.
