TO OUR SUBSCRIBERS.

HONOURED with the first patronage of the realm, in rank and wealth, in beauty and fashion, the conductors of LA BELLE ASSEMBLEE have completed the Fourteenth Volume of their truly national work, under auspices more gracious, more flattering than ever.

In the spirit of chivalry, "HOMMAGE AUX DAMES" is their motto: as gentlemen, they never forget that they are writing for ladies-for those who can appreciate the delicacy, the respect, the veneration that is due to the sacred character of woman.

Their additions to the PICTURE GALLERY OF BRITAIN'S FEMALE NOBILITY, within the half-year now closed, comprise the Portraits of— the Marchioness of Stafford, by Sir Thomas Lawrence-Lady Kerrison, by Sir Martin Archer Shee, P.R.A.-the Countess Grey-Lady Hannah Ellice, by Holmes-Lady Agnes Buller, by Chalon—and the Countess of Rosebery, by Collen.

Exclusively of Twenty-four coloured Engravings, of Fashionable Costume, English and French, the proprietors have introduced a Second View of St. James's Cemetery, Liverpool-and Two coloured Engravings of the Coronation of their Majesties, and the Opening of the New London Bridge.

It now only remains for the proprietors and conductors of LA BELLE ASSEMBLEE to express their acknowledgments, and to assure their patrons that the ensuing volume of their work shall in every respect surpass its predecessors.

PROOF IMPRESSIONS of the Portraits in LA BELLE ASSEMBLEE may be had of Mr. M. Colnaghi, 23, Cockspur Street, Charing Cross, and of all the Printsellers in London.

TO SUBSCRIBERS AND CORRESPONDENTS.

We shall be glad to hear from "C***y," as proposed. Her elegant little translation from Tasso should have appeared this month, but from want of room.

It affords us great pleasure to have been enabled to meet MR. BRADFIELD's wish; and it will afford us still greater pleasure to renew our acquaintance with him-to meet him, hand-in-hand-on his return from the field of anticipated glory. May his meeting at Florence prove all that he can wish. "None but the brave! none but the brave! none but the brave deserve the fair!"

The narrow limits within which we have this month been under the necessity of confining our poetry, must serve as an apology to many of our kind friends, whose favours we have been obliged to postpone; especially to "PARNELL,” “ J. F.,” and "MR. MULLER."

Songs of the Muses, No. V.," next month, if possible. The writer, we hope and trust, has recovered from the effects of his accident.

The "Song for Music," by "CAROLINE," shall be amongst our earliest insertions. Notwithstanding the interest of its subject, "Genuine Female Loveliness" would appear to greater advantage, in a publication devoted to graver topics, than in the pages of LA BELLE ASSEMBLEE.

It cannot be necessary for us to say, that MR. DEAKIN'S "Lilliputian effusion""They tell me Life is like a Dream,"-is acceptable. We are very fond of Lilliputian effusions.

The "Stanzas on Mont Blanc" being, like their subject, more of the Brobdignagian class, time must be allowed, till space shall be more at our command, for their appearance.

We are glad to hear again from our friend Mr. Stafford.

"The Wanderer" shall speedily find himself at home in LA BELLE ASSEMBLEE.

MR. DEAKIN will, we hope, forgive us, for not before acknowledging the receipt of his "Morayma.”
