This volume may be described as, in effect, another and an enlarged series of Secular Annotations on Scripture Texts.

What difference there is, consists

mainly in something more like unity in the design and method in the arrangement. The NOTES OF

INCIDENT are indeed interspersed with the TRAITS OF CHARACTER; but the order of time is, for the most part, observed throughout.
