Wilkie, Chief of the United States Service, has reported to the Secretary of the Treasury that the number of arrests made by the duly qualified agents of his department at the close of the fiscal year, June 30, 1902, were 573. Of the persons arrested, 253 were convicted, 106 were awaiting the action of the United States Grand Jury, 55 were acquitted, 58 were ignored by the Grand Jury, 19 were nolled, 19 were discharged by the United States Commissioner, and 3 were released on their own recognizance.
