Now at the feast the governor was 'Or, a feast wont to release unto the multitude one pri16 soner, whom they would. And they had then 17 a notable prisoner, called Barabbas. When therefore they were gathered together, Pilate said unto them, Whom will ye that I release unto you? Barabbas, or Jesus which is called 18 Christ? For he knew that for envy they had 19 delivered him up. And while he was sitting on the judgement-seat, his wife sent unto him, saying, Have thou nothing to do with that righteous man: for I have suffered many things 20 this day in a dream because of him. Now the chief priests and the elders persuaded the multitudes that they should ask for Barabbas, and 21 destroy Jesus. But the governor answered and said unto them, Whether of the twain will ye that I release unto you? And they said, Barab22 bas. Pilate saith unto them, What then shall I do unto Jesus which is called Christ? They 23 all say, Let him be crucified.
